Engaging the Precepts

We are thrilled to welcome guest senior Dharma teacher Pam Weiss to lead a series of six consecutive sessions this summer while David is away on retreat. Author of the acclaimed book “A Bigger Sky: Awakening a Fierce Feminine Buddhism,” Pam is passionate about bringing the profound teachings of the Buddha into practical, everyday life.

The Bodhisattva precepts express the ethical backbone and compassionate heart of practice, illuminating how to live in our beautiful, troubled world with integrity and kindness. During this series, Pam will guide us through the study of the first five precepts:

Not to kill, but to nurture and cherish all of life.
Not to take what is not given, but to be generous.
Not to misuse sexuality, but to honor intimacy in relationships.
Not to lie, but to speak the truth.
Not to intoxicate, but to cultivate clear awareness.

Like all of our Thursday night gatherings, this series will remain a drop-in group, but you also have the option to register. Scroll down to discover the benefits that are unlocked with registration.
