Walking the Spiritual Path
5-Week Online Course with

Treading along in this dreamlike, illusory realm.
Without looking for the traces I may have left
A cuckoo’s song beckons me to return home,
Hearing this, I tilt my head to see
Who has told me to turn back;
But do not ask me where I am going,
As I travel in this limitless world,
Where every step I take is home.Eihei Dogen-zenji
How can we discover a sense of “home” wherever we are? How do we find our way in the midst of constant churn and change? What is needed so we can respond to the cries of the world with skill and kindness?
The Buddha’s teaching of the Noble Eightfold Path offers a clear, pragmatic description for how deepen spiritual life—taking his words off the page and placing them firmly into our everyday actions, relationships and work. The orientation of this class will be on how to bring these ancient teachings alive within the individual and collective challenges we face. We will focus on the three central categories of the Path: panna, wisdom; sila, ethics; and bhavana, meditation. Each weekly meeting will include guided meditation, a Dharma talk on an aspect of the Path, and ample time for questions and discussion.
