Mindfulness Fundamentals in Uncertain Times

There is a wealth of meaning and nuance in the experience of mindfulness that can enrich our lives in unimagined ways.
— Joseph Godlstein

This class is for those new to practice and those seeking to deepen their understanding of the foundations of mindfulness.

By now it is clear that we are living in a time of uncertainty, anxiety, and isolation not known in our lifetimes. So many have settled into routines of a new normal, and yet so few feel calm and settled within. The mindfulness skills taught by the Buddha offer us a path to cultivating inner peace and resilience regardless of the circumstances in which we find ourselves.

In this six-week course, we will practice the meditation instructions the Buddha offered in his seminal teaching The Four Foundations of Mindfulness. We will practice mindfulness of body, breath, thoughts, feelings, and loving-kindness in order to help us meet the unique challenges of our time with more clarity and balance. Each session will include dharma teaching, guided meditation, and discussion. Led by IMT Community Dharma Leader David Bornstein.
